Trail Rules & Access
As more sections of Fall Line are completed, the trail will continue to grow in popularity with walkers, riders, and explorers of all kinds. Following trail rules and practicing good etiquette helps create a safe and courteous experience for people of all ages, abilities, and skill levels. Together, we can keep Fall Line a welcoming place for everyone.

Trail Rules
- Unauthorized motorized vehicles not permitted
- Be courteous to other trail users at all times
- Keep right, always pass on the left
- Give audible warning when passing
- Maintain single file to allow passing
- Keep pets on leash
- Clean up after your pet

Beyond the official rules, please be mindful of all traffic laws, considerate of neighboring residents and businesses, respectful of placemaking and landscaping amenities that require care and maintenance, and follow the golden rule.
Creating the Trail Rules
The Trail Rules were established by the Central Virginia Transportation Authority and its partners during the creation of the Fall Line’s Wayfinding Study.
